About Us
Our mission is to bridge cultures by providing practical, authentic Japanese language education and practical, personal help for life and travel in Japan, giving our students and clients the skills and knowledge to communicate effectively and enjoy the richness of Japanese culture.
Our history
FindaJapan was founded by an experienced Japanese instructor who spent four and a half years living in Maryland, USA. There she taught Japanese at a community college, focusing on realistic communication and practical language use.
After returning to Japan with her family, she established FindaJapan to continue her passion for teaching and cultural exchange. Today FindaJapan offers Japanese language classes, practical guide services, and dance fitness classes.
About the Founder
Tomoyo Seo
My journey has been anything but ordinary. With a background in economics and a diverse professional history, I've worked as an attorney's assistant, legal department manager, and engineer in Japan. This varied experience has given me a unique perspective on language and communication.
After moving to the United States with my husband, I discovered my true calling as a Japanese language instructor. I taught at a community college in Maryland, where I developed a teaching approach that goes beyond traditional textbooks. My mission? To help students communicate naturally and confidently in real-world situations.
In 2024, I completed my MBA at the University of Maryland Global Campus, which inspired me to start FindaJapan. My goal is simple: to provide a place where students can learn practical, authentic Japanese they can use every day.
But there's more to me than language teaching! I'm also a certified LaBlast dance fitness instructor. I love sharing my passion for dance and creating beginner-friendly content that brings people joy.
Now back in Japan with my family, I'm excited to continue bridging cultures and helping students discover the beauty of the Japanese language and culture.
